Other explorers of alternate tuning vistas are Sonic Youth. Here’s a tuning from their website. Thurston Moore played his part using this tuning on the song “The Sprawl” from the “Daydream Nation” CD.

The use I make of this tuning has more of a blues leaning to it and that’s normal, that’s what I like to listen to. In a fashion reminiscent of the late John Lee Hooker, I change chords a beat behind than standard 4/4 but you get the drift of what I’m trying to convey here.

Another tuning from Acoustic Guitar magazine.

Simple is fun and rewarding. I’m always trying to relay something that is musical, simple and non-trivial at the same time. From my point of view, this composition achieves all these objectives. Please feel free to comment!
