The website’s URL is plain enough. I am Jimmy St-Germain and I have been employed by Cirque du Soleil in various capacities (music publishing, CD inventory management and now intellectual property management) for nine years. I previously worked for SODRAC, a copyrights management society, for close to 5 years
I studied jazz guitar at CEGEP Vanier, gave private lessons, sang in various choirs among which Choeur St-Laurent and Choeur Polyphonique de Montréal and accompanied, in this capacity, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, the Philadelphia Orchestra and others. I also have studied choir direction with the Alliance des Chorales du Québec.
By the way, I also have the time to play guitar, if that’s not obvious enough, although presently bandless. Main styles covered in my previous band are blues and rock. When by myself, I lean more towards jazz, folk and avant-garde music.
Qu’est-ce que « A TUNING A DAY » représente?
It’s basically one of those crazy internet-fueled ideas whereas something is thrown on the wall and one basically sits back and watches to see if anything sticks.
In this case, I’m going to tune my guitar in a different tuning everyday, known or unknown, and compose a snippet and post it here as a vidcast.
Oh, by the way, this is an atheist blog. All tunings herein are atheistic tunings.
